Negative Voltage Sensors Available For Three-Wire Applications

It is common for power generation companies to use a standardized monitoring system powered by negative voltage. Generally, these systems work on a three-wire model. CTC has developed a sensor specifically for use with these monitoring systems.

The sensor design is based on one of our best-performing sensor designs, with high internal RFI resistance and a ± 60 g Dynamic Range (*V source ≤-20 V, 8.5 V bias).

The three-wire negative voltage configuration allows the sensor to operate using lower power overall.

With a nominal bias voltage of -8.5 V, the AC165-1A uses about 25% less power than CTC’s standard IEPE sensors.

The AC165/166 is primarily designed for permanent installation with the sensors wired to many commercially installed rack mount systems from many manufacturers.
