Utilizing SC300 Series Signal Conditioner with TA900 Series Sensors
SC300 Series Signal Conditioners are compatible CTC's TA900 series hazardous rated, dual output vibration and temperature sensors. Please note the following important distinctions:
1.) The temperature scaling of standard TA200 series sensors is different than the temperature scaling of TA900 Series Sensors. As a result, SC300 signal conditioners may be preconfigured for compatibility with TA900 series temperature scaling or reconfigured in the field. If you wish to use a TA900 series sensor with an existing signal conditioner that was not factory set for TA900 series compatibility, simply download CTC's free signal conditioner software and reconfigure your device. Watch the Signal Conditioner Configuration Software tutorial.
2.) SC300s are not hazardous rated. This means that they must be located outside of the hazardous environment in accordance with your hazardous-rated protocol. For Intrinsically Safe (Class 1, Division 1 / Zone 0,1) applications, cabling from the sensor must be run through a barrier. Cabling may then be run from the barrier to a Signal Conditioner Enclosure located outside of the hazardous environment. Signal Conditioners and barriers may be located in the same enclosure, as long as it is outside of the hazardous area. For Non-Arcing applications, (Class 1, Division 2/Zone2) approved cabling may be run directly to the Signal Conditioner Enclosure so long as the enclosure is located outside of the hazardous environment.
